In addition to the gall moth and gall wasp there is a complex
community of parasitoid wasps associated with Searsia galls.
Eighteen species of parasitoid wasp belonging to five families in
the superfamily Chalcidoidea have been recorded as parasitizing the
gall moth or the gall wasp larva inside the galls.
