Holepyris semiruber Kieffer 1911, 457-458. Holotype: lost: should be in the Braun's Collection in Ditsong Museum, Pretoria (TMSA). Type locality: Le Cap: Willowmore, South Africa.

Holepyris semiruber var. striatipleura Kieffer, 1911: 458. Synonymy by Azevedo et al. 2018.

Distribution

Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe.

Biology

The flat spine-shaped setae on the protarsi suggest that the species is fossorial and associated with areas where sandy, friable soils dominate (Azevedo et al. 2018).
