Sphex ferrugineipes Lepeletier de Saint Fargeau, 1845. Types in Torino (MRSN). Type locality:  South Africa: Cape Province: Cape of Good Hope.

Junior synonym of Ammophila rubripes Spinola, 1839 (synonymy by Dollfuss, 2015).

Biology

Nest provisioned with caterpillars.
