Biology
Host: unknown.
Etymology
Named in honour of the Table Mountain National Park, to
whichthe type locality belongs. In 1503, a
Portuguese explorer, Antonio de Saldanha,
climbed and named the mountain
Taboa do Cabo
(= Table of the Cape). Subsequentlythe mountain became known as Tafelberg (= Table Mountain) to the
first EuropeanDutch settlers of the Cape who
arrived in 1652.
