Distribution
|
Afrotropical Region:
Kenya, Mauritius, Tanzania, Uganda.
Also in
Indo-Australasian and Palaearctic regions. |
Biology
|
Hosts: Plutella
xylostella
(Lepidoptera: Plutellidae), Exoteleia dodecella (Gelechiidae),
Pieris rapae (Pieridae). |
Diagnosis
|
Characterized among Diadegma species by the area
superomedia, apically widened and not clearly delimited, and tergites
VI–VII of females at least moderately indented. (Rousse & Villemant,
2012). |
Comments
|
Diadegma semiclausum was introduced into Mauritius in 1991 from Taiwan (Dunhawoor &
Abeeluck 1998). According to Azidah et al.
(2000) D. semiclausum and D. insulare are very
similar, both also being differentiated by the emargination of apical
tergites in females. |
