An ichneumon parasitoid wasp (Xanthopimpla). Species in this genus attack lepidopteran pupae laying an egg directly into the chrysalis. The wasp larva develops inside the pupa. They are important biological control agents as hosts of a number of species include lepidopteran stem borers of grain crops and sugarcane.
