Nuptial flight of the African Thief ant: Carebara vidua
virgin queens emerging from their nest surrounded by tiny worker
ants. The queens will mate with males and start a new colony, laying
eggs to produce workers. The seldom seen workers carry out
subterranean raids on termite nests overpowering and feasting on the
much larger termites
.
