Biology
|
Solitary predatory wasps, provisioning nest constructed in ground,
mostly with paralyzed
adult Diptera, or in the case of Belomicrus, Hemiptera or
Coleoptera for consumption
by the wasp larvae (Bohart & Menke, 1976). Oxybelus carry the
prey impaled on the sting, a derived prey transport adaptation (Bohart &
Menke, 1976). |
