Distribution

Afrotropical region (Introduced): Madagascar, Mauritius, Reunion, South Africa (Kfir, et al., 2002).

Indo-Australian and Oriental regions:  India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand.

Palaearctic region: China, Japan.

Biology

Hosts:  more than 30 moth species (Pyraloidea), including many stem borers of cultivated Poaceae e.g. Chilo, Sesamia and Procerata spp.
