Ceidae

Afrotropical, Nearctic, Neotropical, Palaearctic.

Parasitoids of leaf-mining flies in the families Agromyzidae and Drosophilidae. Cea pulicaris is a parasitoid of Phytomyza pauliloewi (Agromyzidae) associated with Peucedanum oreoselinum (Apiaceae) (Bouček, 1961). Spalangiopelta alata is a parasitoid of Scaptomyza flava (Drosophilidae) attacking Cakile maritima (Brassicaceae) (Bouček, 1961). The biology of Bohpa species is unknown, but based on their unusual morphology and collection in pitfall traps it has been hypothesised that species may be associated with leaf litter or other hypogaeic habitats (Darling, 1991).
