Distribution

Australasian and Neotropical regions.

Biology

Hosts are unknown. Adults occur on Sphagnum moss and may attack the eggs of the moss bug family Peloridiidae. Chiloe micropteron has a dense coating of hairs that trap air in a plastron around the body.
