Wasp diversity
1. With 65 different families of wasps, bees and ants present in
Africa, there is a great range of different physical forms present
on the continent. All the above are wasps and those that look like
ants are wasps that have evolved wing loss as an adaptation to
living in leaf litter on the ground.
