Other non-pollinating fig wasps have extremely long ovipositors, which they use to lay eggs in the fig flower ovules or wasp galls by inserting their ovipositor through the fig wall from the outside of the fig. Fig size varies tremendously across species, and ranges from smaller than a marble to as large as a tennis ball.
