Bembecinus stevensoni (Arnold)

Stizus stevensoni Arnold, 1936. Holotype in Iziko South African Museum, Cape Town (SAMC). Type locality: Sanyati Valley, Zimbabwe.

 

Distribution

Zimbabwe.

Biology

Unknown, but other species of Bembecinus excavate burrows in hard or sandy soil, often in large colonies. Females progressively feed their developing larvae with leafhoppers and other Homoptera (Hemiptera) (Bohart & Menke, 1976).
