Stizus rhopalocerus Handlirsch, 1895. Syntypes in Natural History Museum, Geneva (MHNG). Type locality: Cape Colony, South Africa.

Distribution

Namibia, South Africa.

Biology

Recorded visiting flowers of the families: Asteraceae; nesting in friable soil on a vegetated flood plain; prey Nogodinidae and Flatidae (Homoptera) (Gess & Gess, 2003; Gess et al. 2015).
