Allepipona species

Distribution

Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Namibia, Somalia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zimbabwe.

Biology

Species of Allepipona have been recorded pollinating Moraea rivulicola (Goldblatt & Manning, 2012)  and three Ferraria species: F. divaricata Sweet, F. macrochlamys (Baker) Goldblatt & J.C. Manning, and F. variabilis Goldblatt & J.C. Manning, (Goldblatt et al. 2009; Goldblatt & Manning 2011; Goldblatt & Manning, 2012).
