Distribution

Worldwide.

Biology

Tiphiidae are ectoparasitoids of subterranean or wood-boring beetle larvae (Scarabaeidae, Cerambycidae, Cicindelidae, Tenebrionidae). The female stings each larva before laying an egg on it.
