Synonyms. Xanthophenax nigricornis (Cameron 1906). Syntype: in Iziko South African Museum, Cape Town (SAMC). Type locality: South Africa

Xanthophenax testaceus (Morley 1916). Holotype: in Iziko South African Museum, Cape Town (SAMC). Type locality: Kloof, Kwa-Zulu Natal.
