Aethianoplis excavata (Roman)

Hoplojoppa excavata Roman, 1910. Holotype in Naturhistoriska Riksmuseet, Stockholm. Type locality:  

Xanthojoppa inermis Morley, 1917 ♂ Lectotype in London (NHMUK). Type locality: South Africa, KwaZulu-Natal, Mfongosi. Synonymy by Broad (2021). Junior homonym of Xanthojoppa inermis Morley, 1916 (now Seyrighoplites inermis (Morley, 1916).

Angola, Cameroon,  Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, Togo, Uganda.

Biology

Reared in Uganda from Precis octavia sesamus (Trimen) (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae) (Broad, 2021).
