Phorotrophus caffrariae Benoit, 1952. Holotype: in Naturhistoriska Riksmuseet, Stockholm (NHRS). Type locality: Caffraria = Eastern Cape, South Africa.

Junior synonym of Phorotrophus bivittatus (Morley, 1916) (synonymy by Maquart et al. 2014).
