Phaenolobus alcides Wilkinson, 1930. Holotype: in Natural History Museum, London (BMNH). Type locality: Morogoro, Tanzania.

Phorotrophus elevatus Benoit, 1952a (synonymy by Maquart et al. 2014).

Phorotrophus ugandensis Benoit, 1952b (synonymy by Townes & Townes, 1973).

Distribution

Angola, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe.

Biology

Reared from Alcides brevirostris (Chevrolat) and A. erythropterus (Chevrolat) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) on Dolichos sp. (Fabaceae); reared from Alcides sp. on Abelmoschus esculentus (Malvaceae) (okra); reared on unidentified host on Gossypium sp. (Malvaceae) (cotton).
