Prorops nasuta Waterston 1923, 14: 112, 113-114, fig 5, 6. Holotype: in Natural History Museum, London (BMNH). Type locality: Najunga, Uganda.

Distribution

Madagascar, Uganda. Introduced to many other coffee growing areas across the world.

Biology

Prorops nasuta is a parasitoid of the curculionid beetle Hypothenemus hampei Ferrari, 1871, a global pest of coffee, and has been introduced into many countries as a biocontrol agent of this coffee berry bore  (Murphy & Moore, 1990; Pérez-Lachaud & Hardy, 1999; Waichert & Azevedo, 2012).
