Distribution

Afrotropical region: Madagascar, South Africa.

Most diverse in the Oriental region with a few species also occurring in the Palaearctic and Australian regions (Alencar & Azevedo, 2011; Xu & He, 2006).

Species richness

34 described species that are rare in collections (Azevedo 2006, Mugrabi & Azevedo 2010).

Biology

Parasitoids of lepidopteran larvae (including Pyralidae and Noctuidae) (Kurian 1954, 1955; Krombein 1996; Lim et al. 2009).
