Norbanus africanus Subba Rao, 1973. Holotype in The Natural History Museum, London (BMNH). Type locality: Fort Johnston (Malawi).

Distribution

Malawi (Subba Rao, 1973); Botswana, Cape Verde Islands, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Sudan, Zimbabwe (Mitroiu, 2015).

Biology

Parasitoids of moths (Lepidoptera) associated with maize and sorghum crops: Chilo sp. (Crambidae) larvae in maize stems; Busseola sp. (Noctuidae) on sorghum; Spotted Stalk Borer, Chilo partellus (Swinhoe) on sorghum; “larva of guineacorn stemborer” (a common name given to several moths); and Maize Pink Borer, Sesamia cretica Lederer (Noctuidae)(Mitroiu, 2015).
